Keynote sessions of MC 2009

ACC just had her 2009 Mission Conference in the past weekend. God has spoken to me through the speaker, Pastor Chip Kirk. I wrote down some notes here, so that I can keep a reference and perhaps also share with you. Please feel free to add anything I missed and make comments.

3/27 Friday - What's Abide/Live in Jesus? (John 15:4-5)

• 'What was he thinking?' (Story of his unbelieving dying father taking his last breath). What will you be thinking right before you die? Beg for more time or 'ran a good race' & ready to meet Jesus.
  
• God does not call us to work for Him, but call us to allow Him to live in and work through us.
  
• Why shall we abide in Jesus? Because apart from Him we can do nothing. - Jr's illustration
• How can we abide in Jesus? We need to Practise His Presence, Constantly Connected with Him, Desperately Depend on Him Moment by Moment. - Decoding Peter Pan holds Cotton Candy, Double Dip in a big bowl of M & M

3/28 Saturday - A Great Commandment Heart Leads to a Great Commission Lifestyle? (Mark 12:30, Mattew 28:19)

• If we love Jesus to the point that we can't stop telling others about him; if we love Jesus to the point that our love for Him spills over to other people; we will live a lifestyle so that people will be naturally attracted by the God whom we believe.
• Brock, a God's servant with a Great Commandment heart, praised our Lord to the very last minute on the earth. His love to our Lord overflowed to people around him. How deep the love was!
  
• An old lady held someone's arm and asked "Do you know my sweet sweet Jesus?" Something in her eyes showing her love to Jesus just could not be ignored, so that someone decided to know Jesus and have that love.
  

3/29 Sunday - To Love Jesus is to Obey His Words and the Prompting of the Holy Spirit (John 14:23-24 [not sure, can anyone correct me])

• Jesus loves us to die to save us. We love Him but not even obey His Words? Are we also hypocrites? - Story of a filthy smelly homeless guy sharing his cup of coffee with a well dressed reluctant preacher (which led to the spiritual coffee application)
  
• Christianity is all about a relationship with God.
  
• How is my cup of Spiritual coffee? Is it hot, sweet and strong? Is my cup of Spiritual coffee precious? Am I going to share it with others?
• We can do missions anytime anywhere as long as we submit to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. If we set our heart ready to be used by God, the Holy Spirit will guide us to do whatever God wants us to do. - Example, talking to and praying with the missionary-to-be cashier in Walmart; led unlovable dying uncle William to Christ 2 days before he died
